COMING IN 2009: Eagle Peak Media presents a Midway Pictures production of a David Bettencourt film: ON THE LAKE: Life and Love in a Distant Place, about the sanatorium era in the treatment of tuberculosis,
which for many years was the number-one killer in America and much of the world. This is a story that has never been told, on film, like this. Click below to watch the trailer!
ON THE LAKE is set in Denver; Saranac Lake, New York; and Rhode Island, at Zambarano Hospital, which opened in 1905 as the Rhode Island State Sanatorium. Additional shooting in
Baltimore, North Carolina and Massachusetts. The film features first-hand accounts, never-before-seen footage, letters, and an archive of more than 1,000 rare photographs. We are planning to make this unique historical record available to the public. We also are planning a series of TB Awareness Days beginning in Pittsburgh this October and continuing around the country through 2009. Details at the EPM news page.
